A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN
APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION; ALLOCATING CITY FUNDS FOR ITS
PARTICIPATION AND DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT
IN BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ALLEN IN APPLYING FOR AND
SECURING THESE FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Highways and Public
Transportation has made funds available for traffic enfor-
cement programs to be administered on a statewide level;
and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen is eligible to receive such
funds and is desirous to promote the safety and well being
of its citizens through the enforcement of traffic laws on
its streets and highways,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Allen,
Texas, certifies that the City is eligible to receive
these funds and has authorized the staff to submit
such application to the Texas Department of Highways
and Public Transportation.
Section 2. The City Council authorizes and directs the
City Manager to represent and act for the City of Allen
in dealing with the Texas Department of Highways and
Public Transportation for the purpose of this program.
