A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, ADOPTING THE ATTACHED GREENBELT/LINEAR
PARK STUDY AS AN AMENDMENT TO THE 1985 COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN FOR THE CITY OF ALLEN TEXAS AND TO DIRECTING THAT
IT BE PLACED INTO USE BY THE APPROPRIATE BOARDS AND
COMMISSIONS AND CITY STAFF.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen has determined the importance
of proper planning of the natural drainage ways in Allen for
protection against flooding, and
WHEREAS, the City, while maintaining these areas for
Flood Control should maximize the use of thehareas by planning
for passive recreation facilities, and
WHEREAS, the City Council appointed an eleven member
Steering Committee to guide the development of a study which
would allow for such planning of the natural drainage ways,
and
WHEREAS, the 1985 Comprehensive Plan identifies such a
Study to be adopted as an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. The attached document to be known as the
Greenbelt/Linear Park Study dated October, 1986, is hereby
adopted as an amendment to the 1985 Comprehensive Plan.
Section 2. City Council directs that all Boards and
Commissions and City Staff use the information within the
plan and disseminate that information to all interested
parties.
