R-797-6-87RESOLUTION NO. 797-6-87(R)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR A SPECIAL
ONE -TERM EXTENSION FOR TWO LIBRARY BOARD MEMBERS.
WHEREAS, the Allen Public Library Board is currently involved in a critical
stage of development in both a building program and a long-range fund-raising project;
and,
WHEREAS, two current members whose terms are scheduled to expire at the end
of this month desire to serve for an additional two-year term; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen desires to maintain continuity
on the Library Board during this critical stage of development;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALLEN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Provision be made for the special one -term extension of Board
Members Gayle Boon and Eileen Tollett.
SECTION 2. These members, occupying Places 1 and 5, respectively, will be
reappointed to the Library Board beyond the three (3) successive terms allowed by
Ordinance No. 418-11-82 for one additional term only.
SECTION 3. The additional term for Gayle Boon and Eileen Tollett will be
July 1, 1987 through June 30, 1989.
DULY PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Allen, Collin
County, Texas, this the 18th day of June, 1987.
