A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY,
TEXAS, REAFFIRMING THE JOINT COOPERATION BETWEEN THE
CITY OF ALLEN AND THE ALLEN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
DISTRICT; AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO DEVELOP A
JOINT FACILITY USE AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen and Allen Independent School
District have historically cooperated with one another to achieve
mutual goals for facility development; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen and Allen Independent School
District recognize the need and benefits of joint development of
facilities to enhance the educational and recreational
opportunities for the taxpayers of Allen; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen and Allen Independent School
District have successfully completed joint facility development
at Reed Park/School and Story Park/School; and,
WHEREAS, the continuation of this spirit of cooperation in
the development of joint park/school sites, reflects the positive
relationship realized between the City and School.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED'BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
Section I. The proposed Max Vaughn Elementary School
Gymnasium and other existing school gymnasiums be utilized by the
City of Allen as recreational centers for the citizens of Allen
through a letter of agreement with the Allen Independent School
District .
Section II. The City Manager is directed to work with AISD
Superintendent to develop an agreement with the Allen Independent
School District for the use of these facilities.
