A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY TEXAS, ESTABLISHING A POLICY FOR MAINT-
ENANCE OF SEWER LATERALS
WHEREAS, the City Council has deemed it necessary to establish a policy
for maintenance of sewer laterals in order to better serve the needs of our
citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS:
SECTION I. That the property owner or person in control of the
property is responsible for stoppages in the sewer lateral between the building
and the sewer main. Provided, however, if the Public Works Department
determines that a crushed pipe, improper joint, or other conditions require
the lateral line be excavated and repaired under alley pavement or street
pavement, the City at that point will take responsiblity and perform the
repairs. It is the intent that all repairs to sewer lines under streets and
alleys and all cuts and repairs to streets and alleys be performed by City
personnel.
Section II. That this policy shall be in force as of the date of
passage of this resolution.
