A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE PROJECTS CONTAINED IN
THE COLLIN COUNTY BOND PROGRAM SCHEDULED FOR ELECTION
ON AUGUST 13, 1988.
WHEREAS, the rapid growth throughout Collin County continues to
strain the physical public facilities, such as streets, drainage facilities,
airports, parks, public buildings, garbage disposal, etc.; and,
WHEREAS, the economic, social and cultural well-being of the residents
of the County depends on retaining the necessary level of transportation,
service facilities and open space as the County continues to develop; and,
WHEREAS, a committee of Collin County citizens, the Progress and
Evaluation Committee, evaluated the physical needs of the County for the
next five years and recommended a program of improvements to the Commis-
sioners' Court in the Spring of 1988 as shown in Exhibit A; and,
WHEREAS, the tax impact of the proposed program will be minimal,
especially when compared to the benefits of the improvements; and,
WHEREAS, the Commissioner's Court has called an election on August
13, 1988, so the voters of Collin County can express their wishes concerning
the proposed program of improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council supports the proposed program of capital
improvements for Collin County and urges all of the citizens of the City to
vote in the August 13 election.
SECTION 2. The City Secretary shall send a copy of this resolution to
all concerned parties.

1988.
