A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, ORDERING AN ELECTION TO BE HELD
ON FEBRUARY 4, 1988 IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 26.07 OF
THE STATE PROPERTY TAX CODE TO PERMIT VOTING FOR AND
AGAINST THE PROPOSITION "REDUCING THE TAX RATE IN THE
CITY OF ALLEN FOR THE CURRENT YEAR FROM 594! TO 57.845*".
WHEREAS, the City of Allen was presented with a rollback tax petition
on December 8, 1988; and,
WHEREAS, the Allen City Council has declared the rollback tax petition
as a valid petition document; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 26.07 of the State Property Tax
Code an election must be called by the Allen City Council to permit voting
for and against the proposition "reducing the tax rate in the City of Allen
for the current year from 59$ to 57.845V,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. An election is hereby order to be held on Saturday,
February 4, 1989, for the purpose of voting for and against the proposition
"reducing the tax rate in the City of Allen for the current year from 50 to
57.845.
Section 2. The polling place and the county election precincts whose
qualified voters shall cast ballots at such location in the City of Allen for
this special - called election are as follows:
Election Precincts
5, 6, 7, 40, 59, 80, 82
Polling Place
Rountree Elementary School
800 East Main Street
Allen, Texas
Election polls shall be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Section 3. Absentee votes by personal appearance shall be cast in
the Allen Municipal Annex, One Butler Circle, Allen, Texas, beginning on
Monday, January 16, 1989, and continuing through Tuesday, January 31, 1989,
during the normal working hours of 8:00 a. m. until 5:00 p.m.
Section 4. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to
publish and/or post, in the time and manner prescribed by law, all notices
required to be so published and/or posted in connection with the conduct of
this election.
