Min - City Council - 1972 - 03/16 - RegularREGULAR MEETING March 16, 1972 City Council, City of Allen Present: Mayor Frank Dugger Councilmen: C.D. Whitaker, Clifford Hart, Johnny Pannell, Johnnie Blankenship & Bob Lowman. Motion Bob Lowman Second Johnnie Blankenship that minutes of previous meeting be approved as read. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Public hearing was held on the rezoning request of Neil I. Holm, changing the zoning on a 110 acre tract for industrial use. Mr. J.D. Brown appeared in behalf of the zoning request. There was no one present to present any opposition. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Johnny Pannell that the zoning request be approved. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Mr. O.J. Andrews appeared before Council and asked for a permit for the Assembly of God to construct a Church Building on South Cedar Street. Council advised Mr. Andrews to present a plat on the building to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Motion Johnny Pannell Second C.D. Whitaker that Ordinance No. 122 be approved on the rezoning 11.1118 acre Tract from "A" Classifaction to "CF" (Parksite) Class- ifaction, a 12.00 acre Tract from zone "A" to CnDIE (Townhouse zoning). Both of these tracts are located in the David Wetsel Survey, Abstract No, 977, Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Wm. F. Chester appeared before Council and presented plans for a Commercial building that he proposes to build on property owned by him alongside Central Expressway South of the Texaco Station. Council advised Mr. Chester to present plans of the building to the Planning and Zoning Commission and Council approval would be given subject to approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission. Motion Bob Lowman Second Johnny Pannell that City hire Mike Mahoney to assist Planning and Zoning Commission finish the Zoning Ordinance of the Master Plan. Mr. Mahoney's fee to be set at $50.00 per hour. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion Bob Lowman Second Clifford Hart that bills presented be approved. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Johnnie Blankenship that City join with the Allen Independent School District in a Tax Equalization program for 1972. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Johnny Blankenship that exclusive of a fence for backstop already approved, a am of not more than $600.00 be allocated for the Little league BaseBall program for 1972. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Clifford Hart that a fee of $3.00 be added to the cost of all water meters sold by the City to builders and developers. This fee is to reimburse the City for handling of the billing of these meters. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker that meeting adjourn.
