A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR THE
MINI GRANT "PROJECT SEED" OF THE NORTHEAST TEXAS LIBRARY
SYSTEM, AND CERTIFYING THAT THE CITY OF ALLEN WILL
COMPLY WITH THE CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS OF SAID
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen recognizes that the mission
of the Allen Public Library is to give excellent library service to the people within
its community; and,
WHEREAS, an automated library system would support the library's mission
by improving the quality of existing services, increasing and adding new services,
and expanding users' access to library materials;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS THAT:.
SECTION 1: The City Council has employed a qualified library automation
consultant to advise, to make recommendations, and to guide the automation
project.
SECTION 2: The City Council will commit remaining bond funds up to
$121,955.99 for implementing an automation project.
SECTION 3: The City Council agrees to sustain the ongoing costs of
maintaining an installed automated system in the library's annual operating
budget.
SECTION 4: The City Council authorizes the Library Director to apply for
a Northeast Texas Library System Project Seed Grant for purchasing automation
hardware and/or software in 1990-91.
