A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY AND BFI WASTE SYSTEMS OF PLANO,
TEXAS FOR SOLID WASTE COLLECTION AND RECYCLING SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the welfare of the people of Allen, Texas
depends on society's ability to maintain a healthy and safe environment; and,
WHEREAS, the Council further believes that the City of Allen should contribute to such
an environment by providing prudent solid waste management, including but not limited
to garbage collection, landfilling and recycling; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide residents and commercial establishments
within its corporate city limits with solid waste collection and recycling services by
engaging an independent contractor to perform such services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ALLEN, TEXAS, THAT: The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to
execute the attached contract with BFI Waste Systems of Plano, Texas, for solid waste
collection and recycling services.
DULY PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS ON THIS THE 16TH DAY OF APRIL, 1992.
