RESOLUTION NO. 1169-5-93(R) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO TIRE TEXAS CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION FOR A JOINT NARCOTICS TASK FORCE FOR COLLIN COUNTY, PLEDGING PAYMENT OF CITY OF ALL9i'S SHARE OF COST OF THIS JOINT NARCOTICS TASK FORCE, APPROVING ADMINISTRATION OF GRANT FUNDS BY THE CITY OF RICHARDSON, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Allen recognizes a need for enhancement of police service to the community through cost effective utilization of manpower; and WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice Division has indicated that funds may be available to Collin County agencies for financing a Narcotics Task Force; and WHEREAS, the City of Allen pledges its proportionate share of the cost of this project, as required, if a grant is obtained. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT, RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS.- Section EXAS: Section 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to join in submitting a grant application to the proper authorities for assistance in the cost of the Collin Area Narcotics Task Force, comprised of the cities of Plano, Richardson, Allen, McKinney and the Collin County Sheriff's Office. Section 2: The City of Allen pledges is proportionate share, not to exceed 5% of the cost of the Task Force or $25,722 as required, if a grant is obtained. Section 3: The City Council of the City of Allen hereby approved administration by the City of Richardson of all funds received hereunder. Section 4: The City of Allen anticipates assuming partial cost of this project at the end of the Criminal Justice Division funding.
