A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION OF PLANNING AND
ZONING COMMISSION, LIBRARY BOARD AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBER TERMS OF OFFICE TO COINCIDE WITH A
FALL APPOINTMENT PROCEDURE; DIRECTING STAFF TO NOTIFY ALL
MEMBERS OF AFOREMENTIONED BOARDS OF THE CHANGE FROM NORMAL
PROCEDURE; AND TO PROVIDE FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the desire of the Allen City Council to review the City
Boards/Commission structure and present procedures; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Mayor's Subcommittee that appointments take place on an
annual basis to be accomplished in September each year; and,
WHEREAS, said boards would normally appoint members to expired or vacant places during the month
of June.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The Allen City Council hereby extends all expiring terms of office for the Planning and
Zoning Commission, the Library Board, and the Capital Improvement Advisory Committee to provide
consistency and ease of appointment on an annual basis to be held in September of each year.
SECTION 2: Staff is hereby directed to notify, after passage of this resolution, all affected members of the
Planning and Zoning Commission and the Library Board as to the Council's intent and desire to consider
annual appointments to the various boards and commission.
SECTION 3: This resolution shall take effect after the date on which the resolution is approved by the
Allen City Council.
