Min - City Council - 1972 - 12/21 - Regularn REGULAR MEETING December 21, 1972 City Council, City of Allen Present: Mayor: Frank Dugger Councilmen: C.D. Whitaker, Bob Lowman, Clifford Hart, Johnnie Blankenship and Johnny Pannell. Motion Johnny Pannell Second Bob Lowman that minutes of previous meeting be approved as read. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Public Hearing was held on a rezoning request by Gary Hefner on 2.00 acres of land in the Peter Fisher Survey, Abstract #324, changing the zoning from R-2 Classifaction to IR Classifaction so as to allow the construction of a veterniary Clinic. There was no opposition present to oppose this request. Motion Johnny Pannell Second Bob Lowman that the request be approved. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Bids were considered on the erection of a storage building located at the Car Pound. Bids were received from the FSE Construction Company ($3,438.00), Earl Poston ($1,500.00), Builders Hardware ( $1,397.46). Motion Johnny Pannell Second C.D. Whitaker that bid from Builders Hardware be accepted. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Presentation was made by Mary Tod in behalf of the Library asking permission to purchase items for the Library with a portion of money received from Revenue Sharing. Total of the list was $1,325.69. Motion Bob Lowman Second Clifford Hart that this reccomendation be approved as soon as instructions for distrubtion of this money is received. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Sue Chumbley and Dan Strong appeared before Council and asked Council to abandon and close the alley that runs East and West through Block 17 of the Old Donation. Motion Bob Lowman Second Johnnie Blankenship that procedures be started to close this alley. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Jerry Burton appeared before Council and presented a check for $100.00 that was presented to the Police Department, to the Fire Department. Ronnie Gentry accepted the donation in behalf of the Fire Department. Walter F. Hicks, Jr. appeared before Council and presented plans and specificatio; for the proposed water line construction from the North Texas Municipal Water District. Bids on this project are to be opened on January 16th at 2:00 P.M. Estimates by Engineer Hicks on the project are: $400,000 - Water Line 140,000 - 2,000,000 Gallon storage tank 150,000 - 500,000 Gallon elevated storage tank 30,000 - Pumps 130,000 - Pump Station Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Johnny Pannell that bills presented be approved. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion Bob Lowman Second Johnnie Blankenship that meeting be adjourned.
