A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY,TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO
APPLY FOR A TRAINING AGREEMENT WITH THE TEXAS COMMISSION ON
LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER STANDARDS AND EDUCATION,
ESTABLISHING A TRAINING ADVISORY BOARD, APPOINTING A
TRAINING COORDINATOR, ESTABLISHING AN ANNUAL TRAINING
BUDGET AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Allen Police Department is desirous in continuing its
training agreement with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement
Officer Standards and Education; and,
WHEREAS, Texas State Law mandates training requirements for certain
police department employees; and,
WHEREAS, it is more cost effective to provide local training by
qualified licensed instructors from the Allen Police Department;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Allen hereby approves the
application by the police department for a training agreement with the
Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Allen hereby authorizes the
police department to establish a Training Advisory Board and an annual
training budget.
SECTION 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage.
