A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT FOR AND ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ALLEN APPLYING TO THE TEXAS STATE LIBRARY
FOR FUNDING THROUGH THE LIBRARY SERVICES AND CONSTRUCTION ACT
TITLE II GRANT PROGRAM, AND CERTIFYING THAT THE CITY OF ALLEN
WILL COMPLY WITH THE REGULATIONS, GUIDELINES AND REQUIREMENTS
OF SAID PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Texas State Library has made available Library Services and Construction Act Title II
funding to fund disability access remodeling projects; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen wishes to bring its facilities into compliance with the requirements of the
Americans with Disabilities Act; and,
WHEREAS, the Allen Public Library has been found to not be fully accessible by those with disabilities;
NOW, THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Allen hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to
represent and act for the City of Allen in dealing with the Texas State Library for the purpose of this grant
program. The City Manager is hereby officially designated as the City's representative to make application
for an LSCA Title II grant.
SECTION 2: The City Council hereby certifies that the City of Allen is eligible to receive funding under
the Library Services and Construction Act Title II Program.
SECTION 3: The City Council hereby certifies that the City of Allen has authorized funding in the amount
of $16,000.00 to expend toward a disability access remodeling project of the public entrance doors of the
Allen Public Library. .
