R-1329-4-95RESOLUTION NO. 1329-4-95 (R) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, CONCLUDING THAT THE CURRENT JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM IS IN NEED OF REFORM AND SUPPORTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE TEXAS POLICE CHIEF'S ASSOCIATION REGARDING JUVENILE JUSTICE REFORMS. WHEREAS, the City Council of Allen, Texas has determined that there has been an increase in violence and crime by persons under the age of seventeen; and WHEREAS, the Juvenile Justice System is in need of reform to allow for a more effective approach to dealing with the problem of juvenile delinquency; and WHEREAS, the Texas Police Chief's Association has developed a comprehensive set of recommendations to address the juvenile crime problem in Texas; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS THAT: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Allen, Texas supports the recommendations of the Texas Police Chief's Association regarding Juvenile Justice reform and urges the Texas Legislature to consider and act upon these recommendations. SECTION 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
