A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN
AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE ALLEN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
DISTRICT, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING A POLICY TO ENSURE
REPRESENTATION FOR THE CITY AND THE SCHOOL DISTRICT ON THE
FACILITIES PLANNING COMMITTEES OF EACH ENTITY.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen and the Allen Independent School District (AISD) have for many years
cooperated to provide the Allen community with parks and recreation programs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City and Board of Trustees of the AISD, hereinafter called "the AISD
Board," have adopted such joint activities because they believe cooperation provides higher quality services
at a lower cost to taxpayers; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and the AISD Board agree that such cooperation will continue and improve
if, when each entity appoints committees to consider new park sites or new school sites, the AISD's
committees include representation from the City, and vice versa; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and the AISD Board want to secure this relationship with a formal
declaration of policy that ensures continued communication and cooperation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN
AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE ALLEN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT: The City of Allen and the AISD will appoint one or more
members representing the other entity to their respective facilities planning committees. Representatives
will be chosen by their own entity.
DULY PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN AND
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE ALLEN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, ON THIS THE 26TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1995.
