A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING A PROCESS FOR FINAL
ADOPTION OF ORDINANCES RELATING TO ZONING AND SITE PLAN
REQUESTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen receives numerous requests for changes to the Zoning Ordinance in the form
of site plans and zoning district changes; and,
WHEREAS, it is possible that the City Council may make amendments to the submission; and,
WHEREAS, clarification of amendments is necessary prior to final adoption of any ordinance which
establishes a zoning change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
TEXAS, that:
SECTION 1: The following process is hereby established for approving zoning district changes and site plan
approval.
SECTION 2: After a recommendation is made by the Planning and Zoning Commission, the City Council shall
establish a public hearing date to consider the request.
SECTION 3: Should the City Council approve the request, any amendments or changes; i.e., site plan, land
use plan, use and area regulations, etc., shall be made by the proponent and submitted to City staff.
SECTION 4: The City Attorney's office shall then prepare the ordinance to officially establish the zoning
request, which incorporates any changes made by the City Council, and it shall be placed on the next available
City Council agenda for consideration. The zoning change shall become official with approval of the
ordinance.
