Min - City Council - 1974 - 01/17 - RegularREGULAR MEETING January 17, 1974 City Council, City of Allen Present: Mayor Frank Dugger Councilmen: C.D. Whitaker, Clifford Hart, Johnny Pannell, Johnnie Blankenship & Bob Lowman. Motion Bob Lowman Second Johnnie Blankenship that minutes of previous meeting be approved as read. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Public Hearing was held on annexation request of Donald J. Tobin on a tract of land owned by him located at the intersection of F.M. 2478 & State Highway 121. Mr. Tobin appeared in behalf of his request. There was no opposition presented on this request. Motion Bob Lowman Second Johnny Pannell that Ordinance No. 159 be approved annexing this property. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Larry Price, representing a group from the Jupiter Road Church of Christ, appeared before Council asking if the City could do something about the conditions existing on the property that lies on the East side of Jupiter Road adjacent to the Church's property. Council advised this group that at the present time there was not anything the City could do on this matter, since the property in question was not in the Corporate Limits of the City. Council opened bids on insurance for the City for the year. The following bids were received: Hartford Insurance Conpany - $1,147.00, Stae Farm Insurance Compary - $ 1,313.00, Carl Gilliland Insurance Agency - $999.00. Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker that bid from Carl Gilliland be approved. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Bids were considered on the heating and air conditioning of the Shelton property. The following bids were received: Rodenbaugh - $1975.00, Consolidated of Plano - $ 1500.00 on a 4 ton unit and $1875.00 on a 5 ton unit.Rodenbaughws bid was based on a 5 ton unit. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that bid from Rodenbaugh be accepted contingent on other work neing done on the property. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that bills presented be approved. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Clarence Carter appeared appeared before Council in regards to the Sewer Lift Station in Hillside Village overflowing into the creek that runs through his prop- erty. Water Superentendent Ji=W Eaton reported to Council that he thought work being done on the lift pumps would eleminate this problem. Motion Johnnie Blankenship Second C.D. Whitaker that City issue no more permits in Hillside Village #4 untill the problem with the lift station is fixed. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
