Min - City Council - 1974 - 08/15 - RegularREGULAR MEETING August 15, 1974 City Council, City of Allen Present: Mayor: Frank Dugger Councilmen: C.D. Whitaker, Clifford Hart, Johnny Pannell and Bob Lowman Absent: Johnnie Blankenship. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that minutes of previous meeting be a- pproved as read. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker that Walter Curtis be appointed as re- presentative of City for signing of papers on application for Sewer grant. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. zd 148 Motion Bob Lowman Second Clifford Hart that 1974 Tax Roll be approved. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Johnny Pannell that 1974 Tax Rate be set at #1.25 per hundred dollar assessed valuation. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Mickey Pierson, Chairman Planning and Zoning Commission, appeared before Council and made reccomendation that Richard Chumbley be appointed to serve as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission in the place of Don Brazeal, who resigned because of his moving out of the corporate limits of the City. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Clifford Hart that reccomendation be approved. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. David Blackford appeared and spoke of response he bad from Senator Bentsen concerning the Postal Service. Council advised Jim Eaton to make a survey of the alleys along with a re- presentative from Southern Sanitation and make reccomendation on which alley's are in condition to have garbage pick-up from the alleys. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that Council adjourn into Executive Session to discuss applications for City Secretary position to be filled. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Motion Clifford Hart Second C.D. Whitaker that Bond on City Employees written by Gilliland Insurance Agency be approved. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Motion Johnny Pannell Second C.D.
