Min - City Council - 1975 - 05/15 - RegularREGULAR MEETING May 15, 1975 City Council, City of Allen Present: Mayor Frank Dugger Councilmen: C.D. Whitaker, Clifford Hart, Mickey Pierson, H.C. Brooks, Jr, and Bob Lowman. Motion Bob lawman Second C.D. Whitaker that minutes of last meeting be approved as read. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. Assistant Police Chief Wendell Housley and Patrolman Rick Kirk presented plaques and certificates of recognition to boys and girls that participated in the school safety patrol program. Special awards were presented to Dale Burnside, Jannelle Seamen and Principal James Marion, AAron Manley appeared to discuss a retirement program for City employees and was advised that the City was not prepared to listen to their program. Council advised Mr. Manley that this program will be set up on a bid basis. Fire Chief Ronald Gentry presented 3 bids on electronic warning devices for the Fire Department. Bids were: Motorola $ 6,152.25, Plectron $ 4160.50, and Federal $ 4,161.25. Motion Bob Iowman Second H.C. Brooks,Jr., that the City purchase these devices from the low bidder, Plectron. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. Public Hearing was held on the annexation of Cemetary property. There was no opposition present. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Clifford Hart that Cemetary be annexed into the Corporate City limits of Allen. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. his will be ordinance # 179. Police Chief Anthony Hancock presented information from Council of Governments on the cost of the new radio equipment. Motion Mickey Pierson Second Clifford Hart That Chief proceed with this program. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that Revenue Sharing Planned Use Report # 6 be placed under Multi-purpose and General Government. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. Bob Smith appeared before the Council recommending the appointment of Joe Perks to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Motion Mickey Pierson Second Bob Lowman that reccomendation be approved. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. Robin Streff appeared before the Council in regards to summer recreation program in City. Council advised Mrs. Streff to continue with this program. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that bills presented be paid with the exception of a bill form Allen Pharmacy. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. Motion Bob Lowman Second Mickey Pierson that meeting adjourn. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. These minutes rnd pproved on this t day of June, 1975.
