Min - City Council - 1975 - 11/06 - RegularCity Secretary Larry Moore advised the Council that the City should adopt the policy of requiring $5.00 -additional deposit each time a person's water is disconnected for nonpayment. This is to discourage the habitual offenders from doing same and also to protect the City from being left with a large delinquent bill. Motion Mickey Pierson Second Bob Lawman that Persons whose water service is disconnected for non-payment be, required to put up an additional $ 5.00 deposit. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. Motion Mickey Pierson Second Bob Lowman to amend Southern Building Code in the City of Allen that all houses shall have no less than copper wiring size 12-2 with ground, and that all canter studs be 16" on both interior and exteriorwalls. Fire Chief Ron Gentry presented bids for having south window of Fire Ste. coated with reflecting material. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman to adopt ordinances 183(close alley between lots 1,2,3,4, and 5 Block 28, Old Donation), # 184(Special asessment for removal of unsafe buildings), and # 185(Setting School zone speed limits on 2170 at 20 mph. Eileen Tollet presented petitions signed by concerned citizens requesting that the Council re quire all buiiders to set their studs at 16" instead of 24" Council discussed Bi Centennial Committee. David Marquis advised the Council that he had information that might assist the City in their planning of the event. Dale Williams and. Jim Rankin of Ione Star Gas Co. appeared sand presented some new documents showing their increased cast of operations. After much discussion, Motion was made by C.D. Whitaker and Seconded by Bob Jowma.n to re,jcc'._ their requests for a rates increase. Motion carried. 5 for 0 Against. Police Chief Hancock Presentedbids he received on a new Police Car. Bids were Fischer Ford-$ 4753.50, Markley Ford-$ 4796.28,Kenray Ford -$5015.28, CAR and Southwest Chrysler- $ 4654.23.
