Present: Mayor Frank Dugger
Councilmen: C.D. Whitaker, H.C. Brooks, Jr., Mickey Pierson and
Bob Lowman
Absent: Clifford Hart
Motion Mickey Pierson Second C.D. Whitaker that minutes of last meeting be
approved as read. Motion carried 4 for 0 against.
Wallace Campbell of Hersey Meter Co. appeared and advised the Council that
there would probably be a price increase after the first of the year and
that if the City wanted their water meters at the current price he could
submit the order now at the old price but we would not have to ^tart paying
until June of 1976 when his company began shipping. Motion Bob Lowman
Second C.D. Whitaker to purchase 216 meters at $28.00 @ to be shipped
in incraments of 54. Motion carried 4 for 0 against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Mickey Pierson to pay bills presented. Motion
carried 4 for 0 aglnst.
Police Chief Anthony Hancock appeared and requested that the salaries of
the Police Dept. be upgraded so that the City couldcompete with surrounding
cities in reference to pay scale andthat this would possibly keep the
Dept. from having as much turnover as they do. Council advised Chief Hancock
that they would like for all the City employees to get together and decide what
type of retirement, raises and so forth they would like to have, and to
present them to the Council at the next meeting.
Motion Bob Lowman Second H.C. Brooks, Jr., that meeting adjourn. Motion
carried 4 for 0 against.
