Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public Art
Committee was called to order by Chair Carroll at 6:07 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in the
Parks and Recreation Conference Room at 301 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
1. Election of Officers
Chair Carroll opened nominations for the positions. Member Bennett nominates the current slate
of officers to serve an additional year
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Bennett and seconded by committee
member Gilbert, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to elect
Ann Carroll to the office of Committee Chair, Steve Benson to the office of
Vice -Chair and Tod Raines to the office of Secretary.
2. Approve minutes from the September 29, 2015 Regular Meeting
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Gilbert and seconded by committee
member Raines, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to accept
minutes from the September 29, 2015 regular meeting as presented
3. Update on Current Projects

October 20, 2015
1 Staff reported that the Ford Pool Artist Selection Panel met on October 13, 2015. At that time
they reviewed the project submissions and narrowed down to three artists that will be invited to
present a concept design in mid-December
Staff shared photos of the work being done on the Cottonwood Creek Trail Bridge project. The
frames have all been welded and the laser cutting should take place with next week. The
installation will likely occur in early December. The bridge will remain closed until the an is in
place.
The Committee was given the preliminary narrative and the schedule for schematic design
received from May and Watkins on the Watters Branch Park Project for review Based on the
schedule for design review it was decided that the next Committee meeting will be moved from
November 17, 2015 to November 10, 2015
d. Update on Public Art Master Plan
Staff is working with the consultant to finalize the questions for the survey being conducted in
conjunction with the Public Art Master Plan Update Committee members were also reminded of
the upcoming Public Art Tour in conjunction with the Public An Master Plan Advisory
Committee on October 29, 2015.
5. Review of Public Art Inventory Print Piece
A preliminary mock-up of the print piece was shared with the committee and feedback was taken.
