Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public Art
Committee was called to order by Chau Carroll at 6:02 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in the
Parks and Recreation Conference Room at 301 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
Action Items
1. Approve minutes from the November 10, 2015 Called Meeting
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Gilbert and seconded by committee
member Bennett, the committee voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed to
accept minutes from the November 10, 2015 called meeting as presented.
2. Update on Current Projects
Staff is in the process of finalizing installation details with the artist on the Cottonwood Creek
Trail Bridge project.
The Public Art Master Plan Update Survey is still open and the Committee was asked to
encourage community members to complete it.
There will be a Public Art Master Plan Update Advisory Committee meeting held on December
3, 2015. Also on December 3, the consultant preparing the update will be visiting Allen High
School to gather input from students regarding art in the community.
PUBLIC ART COMMITTE
REGULAR MEETING
December 1, 2015
The Artist Selection Panel for the Ford Pool Mosaic Project will conduct interviews on Tuesday,
December 15, 2015. The interviews will be held in the Council Conference Room at Allen City
Hall.
3. Review and Discuss Concept Sketches for Watters Branch Park Public Art Project
The Committee reviewed revised concept drawings and then connected with project artist May
and Watkins Design via Skype to provide feedback on the revised concepts. Further developed
drawings will be presented by the artists at the January meeting taking into account the Feedback
provided.
