' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER, OR
TERMINATE GRANT # 3047401 A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS,
OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRBVIINAL JUSTICE DIVISION PROVIDING
FUNDING FOR BODY WORN CAMERAS FOR POLICE OFFICERS, IF
AWARDED; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division has made available
funding for body worn cameras for police officers; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen Police Department desires to equip its front-line police officers with body
wom cameras; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen Police Department believes that the addition of body wom cameras will
benefit the police officer, police department, criminal justice system and the community; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen has agreed to provide matching funds, cash or in-kind, for the Body Wom
Camera Grant, as it appears in the grant application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
' SECTION 1. The City of Allen has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice
Division Funds for a Body Worn Camera Grant (application # 3047401), they will be returned to the State of
Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division in full.
SECTION 2. The City of Allen is committed to funding all required and applicable matching funds through
cash and/or in-kind.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate a grant
from the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division to assist the City of Allen and the
Allen Police Department to fund body worn cameras for police officers (application #3047401).
SECTION 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage in accordance with
the provisions of the Charter of the City of Allen, and it is accordingly so resolved.
