R-3063-2-12RESOLUTION NO. 3063-2-12(R) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER, OR TERMINATE GRANT N 2350203, A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION PROVIDING FUNDING FOR A FAMILY VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION AND PREVENTION OFFICER, IF AWARDED; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Allen, and its police department, responds to more than 750 calls of domestic/family violence yearly; and, WHEREAS, the City of Allen Police Department recognizes that this is a very specific volatile offense that destroys lives and families; and, WHEREAS, the City of Allen Police Department believes that the addition of a Family Violence Investigation and Prevention Officer will better assist the police department, the court system, and the victims of domestic violence; and, WHEREAS, the City of Allen has agreed to provide matching funds, cash or in-kind, for a Family Violence Investigation and Prevention Officer, as it appears in the grant application. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, ' COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City of Allen has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division Funds for a Family Violence Investigation and Prevention Officer Grant (application H 2350203), the funds will be returned to the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division in full. SECTION 2. The City of Allen is committed to funding all required and applicable matching funds through cash and/or in-kind. SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate a gran[ from the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division to assist the City of Allen and the Allen Police Department to fund a Family Violence Investigation and Prevention Officer (application N 2350203). SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Allen, and it is accordingly so resolved.
