Brooks, Jr. and Eileen. Tollett Motion Pierson Second Toi lett to adopt minutes as read. Motion carried 5 For 0 Against. After a discussion with Tom Katz of North Texas Ambulance Service, concerning a 24 hour ambulance service, a motion was made by Pierson, Seconded by Farmer, to verbally enter into a 21 month contract, to be renegotiated at the end of 9 months. Mr. Kat z's attorney gttezaey is to present us with a contract which our attorney is to review and a final vote is to be made on the contract October 20. In the meantime, Mr Katz Is to get with Anthony Hancock, of the Police Denartment and with the Volunteer Fire Department, in order to have a good working relationship. The motion carried 5 For 0 against. Mr. Carl Shimek and Ross Jacobs made a study oiour sewer rates in order to devise a rate structure which will comply with federal regulations, in a manner that will allow the city to meet its financial obligations. They reported that their study showed that based on the recent growth trends and an estimated average of 1623 connections for 1977-7A, and the total income reauired, an average of $8,88 ner connection is required. However, since federal regulations require the sever charge be constructed so that it relates to the customers use, and since the sewers are not metered at a residence, the average water metered�meboaW may be taken. From these figures, Mr. Shimek recommended a minimum charge of $7.10 plus 352 ner thousand gallons per month, not exceeding 10,000 gallons, to produce the required revenue. The general feeling was that we must conform with the FPA regulations and an ordinance is to be drawn un. Bids were opened for 2 Chevrolet novas for the Police Department and they were as follows: late Chevrolet (1) $5685.00 (2) 11370.00 Carter 561.5.19 11230.38 Steakley 5667.02 11334.04 with Carter Chevrolet receiving the low bid. Motion Pierson Second To3.lett to accept this bid. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. The Ford is to be auctioned and the Plymouth kept. Motion Pierson Second ,6100e,s to decline the Volunteer Fire Department Insurance at this time. Motion carried 5 For 0 against. Motion Brooks Second Pierson to approve the Public Works Standard Study and to participate with a check for $500 to the Council of Governments. Motion carried 5 for 0 aganst. Motion Pierson Second Tollett to draw un a resolution allowing the mayor to anply for a park and wildlife grant. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. Motion Farmer Second Pierson to approve the Civil Defense Budget. Motion carried 5 for 0 a=ainst. Motion Farmer Second Brooks to pay bills. Motion carried. Motion Brooks Second Farmer to adjourn.
