' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER, OR TERMINATE
GRANT # 2350001 A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS, OFFICE OF THE
GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION PROVIDING FUNDING FOR A
JUVENILE INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION OFFICER, IF AWARDED.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen, and its police department, responds to and investigates crimes committed by
juveniles; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen Police Department recognizes it is in the best interest of the community to be
proactive in our response to juvenile offenders; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen Police Department believes that the addition of a Juvenile Intervention and
Prevention Officerwill better assist the police department, the community, and thejuvenile offenders themselves;
and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen has agreed to provide matching funds, cash or in-kind, for a Juvenile Intervention
and Prevention Officer, as it appears in the grant application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
' SECTION 1. The City of Allen has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division
Funds for Juvenile Intervention Investigator Grant (application #2350001); they will be returned to the State of
Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division in full.
SECTION2. The City of Allen is committed to funding all required and applicable matching funds through cash
and/or in-kind.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate a grant from
the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division to assist the City of Allen and the Allen
Police Department to fund a Juvenile Intervention Investigator (application # 2350001).
SECTION 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
