R-2708-2-08RESOLUTION NO. 2708-2-08(R) ' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER, OR TERMINATE GRANT # SF -20426-01, A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, PROVIDING FUNDING FOR A JUVENILE INTERVENTION INVESTIGATOR, IF AWARDED. WHEREAS, the City of Allen and its Police Department responds to crimes committed by juveniles; and, WHEREAS, the City of Allen Police Department recognizes it is in the best interest of the community to be proactive in our response to juvenile offenders; and, WHEREAS, the City of Allen Police Department believes that the addition ofaJuvenile Intervention Investigator will better assist the police department, the community, and the juvenile offenders themselves; and, WHEREAS, the City of Allen has agreed to provide matching funds, cash or in-kind, for a Juvenile Intervention Investigator, as it appears in the grant application. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City of Allen has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division Fonds for Juvenile Intervention Investigator Grant (application # 20426-01), the funds will be returned to the State ' of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division in full. SECTION 2. The City of Allen is committed to funding all required and applicable matching funds through cash and/or in-kind. SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate a grant from the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division to assist the City of Allen and the Allen Police Department to fund a Juvenile Intervention Investigator. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately from and after its passage.
