' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, TO ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS, OFFICE
OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION PROVIDING FUNDING FOR
A MOBILE COMMUNITY STORE FRONT AND COMMAND CENTER TRAILER, IF
AWARDED; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen, and its Police Department, believes in the philosophies of Community Oriented
Policing and being prepared to meet any challenges it may face; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen Police Department believes that being proactive in the community and in the
neighborhoods helps to lower crime and increase one's feelings of safety and security; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen Police Department believes the addition of a Mobile Community Store Front and
Command Center Trailer will allow police officers to be proactive in the neighborhoods, at community events and
during times of emergency; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen has agreed to provide matching funds, cash or in-kind, for a Mobile Community
Store Front and Command Center Trailer, as it appears in the grant application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
' SECTION 1. The City of Allen has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division
Funds for a Mobile Community Store Front and Command Center TrailerGmnt (application # 1925301), the funds
will be returned to the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division in full.
SECTION 2. The City of Allen is committed to funding all required and applicable matching funds through cash
and/or in-kind.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate a grant from
the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division to assist the City of Allen in funding a Mobile
Community Store Front and Command Center Trailer (application # 1925301). The City Manager is also hereby
authorized to expend funds in accordance with the grant application.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
