A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE CORRIDORS AND CONTINUED
EVALUATION OF FINANCING ALTERNATIVES TO FUND A REGIONAL RAIL
AUTHORITY; AUTHORIZING ITS SUPPORT BY THE MAYOR; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the 790 Texas Legislature passed House Bill 2072 which contained a provision to establish a
Regional Transit Review Committee; and,
WHEREAS, the local governments have worked to develop recommendations for a Regional Transit
Initiative, including the creation of the Regional Rail Authority; and,
WHEREAS, the Regional Rail Authority would require the approval of additional taxes and/or fees to
implement the Regional Transit Initiatives recommendations; and,
WHEREAS, the Regional Transit System Review Committee has requested Allen's level of support for the
condors and additional taxes and/or fees to fund a Regional Rail Authority.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Allen supports the condors and continued education of
' financing alternatives necessary to fund a Regional Rail Authority.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to represent Allen in the Regional Transit System review
meetings.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and it is so duly
resolved.

COUNTY, TEXAS, ON THIS THE 22x1° DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2005.
