AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE GENERAL ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS (ORDINANCE NUMBER 129);
STATING THE MINIMUM ALLOWABLE EXTERIOR MASONRY
CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL RESIDENTIAL HOMES
CONSTRUCTED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS; PROVIDING
FOR PUBLICATION OF THE CAPTION HEREOF; A PENALTY FOR
THE VIOLATION HEREOF; AND STATING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen, Texas,
Is charged with the responsibility of controlling new
construction in their municipality in order to assure
orderly and lasting growth to the community, and
WHEREAS, aesthetic considerations should be
considered in determining the allowable building materials
for exterior construction, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen, Texas,
has determined it to be in the best interest of their
community to limit the type of materials that may be used
in exterior construction of all residences due to danger
from fires and other external dangers;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: That the general zoning ordinance of the
City of Allen, Texas, to -wit:
Ordinance No. 129 is hereby amended as follows:
All residential dwelling constructed within the
Corporate limits of the City of Allen, Texas, after
the effective date of this Ordira nce shall have
exterior construction of at least seventy-five percent
(75%) brick, brick veneer, rock, rock veneer or other
masonry construction.

SECTION 2: That the caption of this Ordinance shall
be published one time in a weekly newspaper having general
circulation in the City of Allen, Texas, and said Ordiance
shall be effective immediately after its adoption and such
publication and it is so ordered.
DULY PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the
City of Allen, Texas, on this the _L day of
