AN ORDINANCE AMENDING OJDINANCE NO. 73 TO THE CITY
OF ALLEN, TEXAS, BY THE CHANGING OF OR ADDITION TO
SECTION III TH,:REDF, 3ULES AND REGULATIONS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR
RE -ADOPTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ALLEN, TEXAS:
SECTION I - That from and after the effective date

of this Ordinance, Ordinance No. 73 to the City of Allen,
Texas, is hereby amended by adding to or changing the
following subparagraph of Section III thereof in the
following manner, to -wit:
e) That the library board shall be composed of
six (6) members.
b) That with the exception of the original
appointment for a board consisting of the
five (5) members and for the transitional
Period of reorganization of such board, the
term of office for a board member shell be
three (3) years. There shall be at least
two (2) new members and at least two (2)
retiring members each year. Enlargement of
the board shell be made in multiples of three (3)
so that the sequence of new members and retiring
members shell remain the same and the City Council
may promulgate additional rule. and regulations
for the retirement and appointment of member.

during the aforementioned transitional period.
SECTION II - Ordinance No. 73 of the City of Allen
as so amended is hereby re -adopted by the City Council
of the City of Allen, Texas.
SECTION III - This Ordinance shall be effective
upon its passage and approval.
