Min - City Council - 1980 - 07/14 - CalledEMERGENCY MEETING Allen City Council July 14, 1980 Present: Mayor M.B. Pierson Councilmen: Rex Womack, Richard Chumbley, H.R. Daugherty, and Glenn Andrew Absent: Joe Farmer and J.M. McClure The meeting was called to order by the Mayor in order to establish a water distribution program. The extremely dry weather conditions had generated such demands on the water supply that the water storage level had reached a dangerous level. Mr. Carl Rhiem from North Texas Municipal Water District was present to explain that they could not distribute adequately until the larger line was complete in June of 1981; therefore the need was urgent for the City to establish an emergency watering program. Motion Womack Second Daugherty to adopt Ordinance 4307, AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR OUTSIDE WATERING AND LAND- SCAPE IRRIGATION; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF; PROVIDING FOR THE SEVERABILITY AND PUBLICATION OF THE CAPTION HEREOF. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. This ordinance restricted the use of water for outside watering from 10:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. Motion Andrew Second Daugherty to adjourn.
