' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FEE SCHEDULE FOR SANITARY SEWER
CHARGES AND WATER SERVICE CHARGES, WHICH IS CONTAINED IN
APPENDIX C OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, due to the increased service costs for the purchase of water, and the transport and treatment of waste
water by the City of Allen from the North Texas Municipal Water District, City staff finds it in the best interest of
the City to recommend that the fees for sanitary sewer charges and water service charges be increased; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the increase in rates will serve to better balance the sewer revenue to
match sewer expenses; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that the continuation of a tiered year-round water conservation rate
structure for waters will encourage water conservation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Appendix C, "Fee Schedule," of the City's Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by amending
Sanitary Sewer Charges Section (1) and (2) to read as follows:
"SANITARY SEWER CHARGES
(1) Monthly minimum charge. Fifteen dollars and four cents ($15.04) for any customer whose water
consumption for the month does not exceed one thousand five hundred (1,500) gallons.
(2) Volumetric charge.
1,500-10,000 gallons: Eighty-six cents ($0.86) per one thousand (1,000) gallons for all
separately metered single-family dwelling units and other dwelling units separately
metered for water.
b. The maximum charge for single-family residential sewer service shall be twenty-two
dollars and thirty-five cents ($22.35) per month.
Over 10,000 gallons: Eighty-six cents ($0.86) per thousand (1,000) gallons for other than
residential customers, including mobile home parks, apartment complexes, commercial
and industrial customers.
SECTION 2. Appendix C, "Fee Schedule," of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by amending Water
' Service Charges Section (1) and (2) to read as follows:

"WATER SERVICE CHARGES
(1) Monthly minimum charge. The following minimum monthly charges are based on the meter siu
and include the cost of one thousand five hundred (1,500) gallons of water usage:
For a 5/8 inch standard meter .............

$2.29 per 1,000 gallons
15,001-25,000
$2.75 per 1,000 gallons
Over 25,000 gallons
$3.20 per 1,000 gallons
Non -Residential customers

SECTION 2. Should any word, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase or section of this resolution, be
adjudged or held to be void or unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of
said resolution which shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION3. All prior resolutions of the City of Allen, Collin County,Texas, in conflict with the provisions of
this resolution, and the same are hereby repealed; provided, however, that all other provisions of said resolutions
not in conflict with the provisions of this resolution shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall take effect on October 1, 2004, and it is accordingly so resolved.
