Committee Members: Present: Ann Carroll, Chair Steve Benson Denise Gilbert Tod Raines Sandy Wittsche Absent: Jane Bennett Susan Barry City Staff: Tim Dentler, Director, Parks and Recreation Jennifer Robinson, Support Specialist, Parks and Recreation Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present ' With a quorum of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public Art Committee was called to order by Chair Carroll at 6:03 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in the Parks and Recreation Conference Room of Municipal Courts, Parks and Recreation Building at 301 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas. 1. Approve minutes from the April 19, 2016, Regular Meeting MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Raines and seconded by Gilbert committee member, the committee voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed to accept minutes from the April 19, 2016 regular meeting as presented. 2. Recommend City Council Adopt the Allen Public Art Master Plan Update MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Gilbert and seconded by Benson committee member, the committee voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed to recommend City Council adopt the Allen Public Art Master Plan Update Discussion Items 1 3. Review and Discuss Revised Concept Sketches for Ford Pool Public Art Project PUBLIC ART COMMITTE REGULAR MEETING MAY 17, 2016 ' The Committee reviewed the six different concept drawings provided by project artist Joshua Weiner. Overall the drawings were well received, but the Committee did provide feedback on a couple of the figures represented. 4. Update on Current Projects The Committee reviewed updated drawings from May and Watkins on the Watters Branch Community Park restroom building enhancements as well as the added bike racks. The Red Hot Poker version of the restroom building enhancement seemed to be preferred by the group. The bike nick design was liked, however for safety reason it was suggested that the design include a more rounded edge. Tim Dentler, Director, Parks and Recreation spoke briefly about the impact of the recent bond election on future project funding, as well as provided an update on the timing and possible structure of the GCAA project. Funds previously allocated for golf course signage were also discussed and it was determined that possible future reallocation of these funds maybe an option based on project timing. 5.
