Chumbley City Staff: Jon McCarty, City Manager Marty Hendrix, City Secretary The Called - Special Meeting of the Allen City Council was called to order by Mayor Pierson at 6:39 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 1981 at the City Hall - Central Fire Station, 302 W. McDermott. Consideration of Matters Relating to the Taking of Bids for the City of Allen Fire Substation Resolution No. 343: Rejecting Any and All Bids Connected With the Construction of a Proposed Fire Station No. 2 In and For the City of Allen, Collin County, Texas. City Manager Jon McCarty presented to the Council two versions of a resolution prepared by City Attorney Don Crowder rejecting any and all bids connected with the construction of Fire Station No. 2. Alternate No. 1 Resolution contained a release document attached as Exhibit "A", which is to be signed by the person or company who had previously bid on the subject project. Alternate No. 2 Resolution contained the same wording as Alternate No. 1, however, it did not have a release document attached as Exhibit "A". After a brief review of the proposed resolutions and discussion of the competitive bidding requirements and procedures, a motion was made by Councilman Daugherty and seconded by Councilman McClure to adopt Resolution No. 343 (Alternate No. 1), with release document Exhibit "A" attached. The Council voted 5 - 0 in favor of the motion. S�? Allen City Council May 11, 1981 Page 2 Consideration of Matters Pertaining to the Collin County Farmers Market Mayor Pierson updated the Council on the status of the Collin County Farmers Market based on the action of the Collin County Commissioners at their meeting held on Monday, May 4, 1981, and the meeting between Judge Nathan White, County Commissioner Howard Thornton, Mayor Pierson and City Manager McCarty on Friday, May 8, 1981. The Mayor further advised that from the discussions at these meetings, the City Manager has advised the City Attorney to prepare a letter of agreement incorporating various items for the operation of the Farmers Market within the City of Allen's extraterritorial jurisdiction. There was discussion among the Council on these various items, being operation of the facility for three seasons and continued operation thereafter, sale of the property site, residential sub- division development near the site, annexation of the Farmers Market Site, the Farmers Market Board and the Bylaws for the Board. There was no action taken on this item. With no further discussion, a motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Farmer and seconded by Councilman McClure to adjourn the meeting at 7:35 p.m. The Council voted 5 - 0 in favor of the motion.
